"The Max Rubner Award 2016 for the project ‘Culture of Welcome at the Charité - Establishment and coordination of a Berlin-wide network for the professionalization of psychosocial regular care for asylum seekers and refugees has become a remarkable cornerstone for networking, professionalization and continous development of psychosocial approaches in services in the field of psychosocial care emanating from the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. The delivery of care, as well as research in this target group will be a relevant topic at Charité, in Germany as well as internationally.

The positive resonance of the 200 participants of the final event ‘Netzwerkbörse Network Now.’ has emphasized the potential of interdisciplinary exchange between political, cultural and psychosocial actors as well as between theory and practice with innovative formats for this field. The striking importance of participation and empowerment of people that experienced flight, the civil society as well as professionals in (mental) health care and research could be shown and used in this project. The support of the Stiftung Charité has not only enabled important developments for the delivery of psychosocial care in this area but as well has fascilitated gathering important results for long-term research perspectives."
