The project key concern of the project was to provide a novel model of psychotic disorders that aims at helping medical lay people to better understand psychotic experiences. A central aspect of the model is the idea of a continuum between "normal* and delusional beliefs, with regard to both their phenomenology and the underlying mechanisms. The resulting notion that the boundaries between "normal" and "mad" are essentially fluid facilitates a normalization of psychotic experience and can thereby contribute to the destigmatization of people with psychotic disorders.
