“In 2020 the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association (MDC), the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Berlin Institute of Health @ Charité (BIH) joined forces to establish the new Focus Area ‘Single Cell Approaches for Personalized Medicine’ with the aim of translating single cell discoveries into clinical practice to improve diagnostics, early detection of disease and enable personalized treatments to reach the ultimate goal of increasing patients’ wellbeing. With support of Stiftung Charité a Kick-Off Symposium intrducing the four newly appointed group leaders and clinical single cell research projects was held to present the ground breaking potential of this collaborative effort and Berlin as one of the gobal hotspots for single cell research.”
